Mummy and Daddy Loves your Gazillion!!!~

And we are so excited and happy to see you enjoying your own cake!!!

24 October 2009 - Fybie - 1 yr 20 days old - Sore Back Right Paw

I am so silly. its been 1-2 weeks when we discovered that Fybie has been nibbling back right paw and I did not even notice the red itchy flaky skin in between her paw's under pads. only on the 24 October 2009, 2am, then i discovered. I am such a poor mum. Luckily, i convinced Felix to bring Fybie to the vet first thing in the morning or afternoon Felix wakes up. he has been unwilling to bring Fybie to the vet cos he wanted to observe for a period of time. sometimes, i just disagrees with him. i think u can be plain lazy at times. when i mentioned to felix about bringing Fybie to the vet, he even mentioned that he just got his car washed. but i think he cares for Fybie too, so he agrees.

Here are some pictures of poor little Fybie and her sore paws. heartache.
These are some photos I took about 1 week or 2 ago where there was a small swelling, but it healed.

These are the photos I took of her sore paws where you can notice itchy flaky red irritated skin between her paw's under pads.

Some research discovery:

Question
I have 3 small dog whose paws show red, itchy and inflamed swellings, or rather on the edge of their paws and in between the pads. This problem has ocurred during the past month. I am keeping their paws as clean as I can and applying sudocream at least once a day. Could you advise if dogs suffer with chilblains and am I treating them properly.

Answer
......There is a tiny microscopic bug called "sarcoptic mange." It is goes into the hair follicles and makes the skin red and itchy. It usually affects the feet and ears. It is contagious to other dogs and even people. It can be diagnosed with a skin scaping and an exam under the microscope except it is often difficult to get a good sample. So, often if we think it is mange, we just treat for it. You would need a precription medication to treat this. I would make sure that your vet knows that all the dogs are affected. Not just one.

Sarcoptic Mange in Dogs
Very Contagious Scabies Mites Cause Itchy Skin in a Dog, Humans

Sarcoptic mange is a very itchy skin condition in dogs caused by parasitic mites. Called scabies in humans, mange mites can be difficult to treat.

Sarcoptic mange causes intensely itchy skin in dogs, cats and other mammals. Caused by parasitic mites, sarcoptic mange is extremely contagious to other pets and humans. In humans, the itchy skin condition is called scabies.

What is Sarcoptic Mange and Scabies?
A dog may catch sarcoptic mange from another dog, cat or during a trip outside, particularly in thickly wooded areas with an abundance of wildlife. A dog can get sarcoptic mange from a human suffering from scabies. Scabies/sarcoptic mange is one of the few medical conditions that can be transmitted between dogs and humans.

According to Dr. Michael Levine, DVM, a dog develops sarcoptic mange when parasitic mites are transferred onto the dog's body. The female mite burrows into the skin and lays eggs beneath the skin's surface. As a result, of the mite infestation, the dog's skin will develop an allergic reaction. This allergic reaction causes the dog's skin to itch, flake and in some severe cases, the dog's skin will take on a red, swollen appearance over large areas.

Symptoms of Sarcoptic Mange in Dogs include:

-Red bug bite-like bumps, often with a red dot in the center
-Itchy, flaky skin
-Red, inflamed skin
-Sores and scabbing
-Fur loss
-intense, near-constant itching
-Crusty ear tips

Often, in the early stages, a dog with sarcoptic mange is misdiagnosed as having allergic dermatitis since the mites are difficult to detect by diagnostic methods like a skin scraping. But left untreated, the dog's red, itchy, flaky skin will only worsen.

9 months and 14 days - 15 days Fybie is a big girl now...

oh my god, i had this urge to continue to blog again suddenly and when i reached home after a team marketing bonding session at Melt at Marina Oriental to about 12am, i just realised my baby daughter Fybie is a grown up girl le... she is in heat now, i.e. bleeding. To Fybie: baby Fybie, mummy is so sorry to neglect you for so long and only return home at about 12.15am, only to realise you are in heat. i am so happy that my baby girl is now grown up liao... please give me some time to research and ask around on what i should do for you... muacks... i love you Fybie... *this is the first blog since i last wrote months ago when the camera broke down. now it's fixed le, so i would like to continue to blog about Fybie so that i can retain more memories about her.. muacks i love u Fybie... my question: My dog got her period. What should I do? Best Yahoo answer: Dogs don't have periods. She is in heat. That is the period during which she becomes fertile. She MUST be kept away from males during this time, and cannot be left outside unsupervised. She will be in heat for approximately 3 weeks, twice a year. Unless you have her spayed, then you won't have to worry. My inner thoughts: no i do not intend for them to get spayed. but i still had to solve the problems of housing more than one puppy at home...hmm... let me think...

now this is my cute baby princess - Fybie. :)

updates on Fybie, 2 more days to her 8th month old

yesterday when we went out to buy lunch, Fybie poo-ed. it very very green and soft but at least it has a shape. she is getting better. man i was so worried.

today, though i was working, i cannot stop missing her. my baby. 215pm, i called mum to feed Fybie her medicine, 1 of the green one and half of the white one. once work is done, i went straight home. as usual, i knelt before the the door, and searched for my keys to open the door. and as usual, Fybie barked and knew i was home. when i open the door, her head was protruding out of the door and there came her mouth, hands and entire body onto me. lick lick lick - this is how Fybie welcomes me home - man i love her loads. when mum told she has approximately 80 pcs of the dry knibbles, i was very happy cos she has small appetite. then i made her dinner and she ate, licking and chewing lately.

then she poo-ed. finally, there seems to be more shape and harder than her diarrhea. but i dun think she recovered fully. so no watermelon and banana. strictly dry knibbles and canned food. but at least i know she is fine le. muacks....love ya baby.

update on Fybie's status

Fybie had another diarrhea... at 10pm...

5 days and 5 hours and 5 mins to 8 months old

i am on leave today and we went to felix place since last night. new environment, new room, night mj, sleepless night, constant air condition, endless noise and no appetite results in loads of excitement and maybe stress in Fybie. she is having diarrhea. her poo was fine at felix place on thursday night. we fed her banana (her usual favourite) the canned food (Divine, new to her diet) and some knibbles. she did not like it, except the banana. then came mj. the noise and light gave her no-peace at all. she barked non stop, scratched the door wanting to find out more about the source of the mj noise. no one cared about her inability to sleep. only me. well, at 11 plus i thought, with my tired body and itchy eyes, i decided to bring her down stairs for a walk. felix said wait for him and he will walk Fybie with me. when? after mj? 2 am? 3 am? i told him, never mind. after walking, Fybie is still restless, cos the mj has not stopped. and its still a new place for her. she was wide awake and barking also. so i carried her to felix who carried her while playing mj, while i stood and watch. when one of the semi-final round ended, they needed to "wash" the tiles, i carried Fybie back and walk to the door (to outside) Fybie calmed down immediately. i did not want Fybie to disturb the silence and the neighbours so i carried her and stood at the door, staring into space with her. finally, my sleepyness got over me and i sat down against the door, still carrying Fybie who is more quiet now, now that she is looking at the space outside. she is more peaceful. finally, they finished the game and start clearing, final peace for Fybie and time for her to rest and sleep.

it was a disturbing night for her. hardly slept.

came morning. both Fybie and i were kept in the house while felix went her his mini op. i tried to feed Fybie the same diet as her last dinner but she had no appetite also. so i have to feed her and make her eat. felix returned for lunch and he rested. i watched movie and rest too. same goes for Fybie. came afternoon, i fed her cheese and some more dry knibbles. then finally we were ready to drive down to the US doggie bakery. she made friends with the staff and ate her lamb spaghetti periodically (ate, distracted, ate, distracted) then we bought some dog cookies and meat loaf for her before we went to the dog playground for Fybie to play and run. as usual, she is afraid. well, we went home ( my place and Fybie's most comfortable place)

the moment we reached home, i washed her paws and cleaned her. then she poo. it was soft stool. i tried to use paper at mat for her poo before she did it, but she moved location the moment i tried to use the paper. in the end, there were so many spots. felix helped to clean her while i clean the poo. felix left, leaving Fybie to me all alone. ok, then Fybie has diarrhea (my dad called me to clean it up) i saw that it was watery, a little tranparent and with streaks of brown. this reminds me fo Bell. but i know Fybie is different. cos she is still active. 2 puddle of diarrhea before she came to my room and play bite. then she went out and had 2 puddles also.... in total, i think she has 6-8 puddles of diarrhea already. i am getting worried. but i know i need to observe first. most importantly, i need to feed her water so she does not get dehydrated. then she came into my room, and she dripped few drops on the pee pad. my poor Fybie, i know she cannot control it and she is not feeling good as well, but i hope tomorrow would be better for her. I may not get a good rest tonight cos i am worried about her and would want to be there for her. for my sweet beloved Fybie, there is no qualms about my decision. with a pail of water and a towel, i am ready to nurse Fybie for the night. wish Fybie health and she would be alright by tomorrow... muacks...

the long break after my PMET Workshops

...finally i get to spend some time with my baby Fybie...i do feel that it is a little unfair to her for my busy schedule and thus i spent so little time with her..but it took off well at the right note when i walk with her at the safety traffic park near my place. wanted to spend some time at the swing while i surf intenet on mobile modem, but the mosquitoes killed my mood. darn, we ended everything in a flash and reached home before i can say anything.

it was a wednesday when i took leave...but i am not that free after all.. a late morning and a sumptous breakfast to start off the day...but at least i got some time to prepare a good breakfast for Fybie...play with her and of cos time to nag and complain about not having enough time again...thanks to mark for lending me his slr so I have got to make a trip to the bank, then to the office to collect the camera from Mark, pay bills, make a trip to facial and finally home sweet home...only then will i be able to spend time playing with Fybie and talking all kinds of pictures of her...she sure is a baby...keke...

one warm night, i brought Fybie slow jogging and she loved it. 3 rounds plus some "upstairs" and "downstairs". i think Fybie has a thorough workout. just nice for her weekly bath. :)

shout out to mark: thanks mark for the camera, it was the best thing that happened in this long break... all thanks to you!!!!

to Fybie: baby, thanks mark kor kor okie... without mark kor kor, we would not be able to make that peaceful trip to muar...he is such a nice kor kor hor...

anyway, that night, i was still quite restricted and did not spend much time with my baby Fybie cos i need to prepare for my basic theory test...well for the next day...good luck to me. in the meantime, luckily i had my darling with me to accompany one another...

yes, once again i did not spend much time with fybie playing..just a little here and little there cos i have to prepare for my basic theory test. ok. its funny to be anxious over 50mcq questions, i know. but i think i am anxious cos i want to quickly pass driving and get to drive Fybie around. Fybie hor! anyways...mummy says this to Fybie all the time: mummy loves you so much....muacks...

ok. done with basic theory test. 3 hrs after i got my results slip and then i am back home with fybie again. haiz...reminder. its thursday only k. so felix is not with me tonight. so fybie and me slept together...just the 2 of us...its always very comforting for me to wake in the middle of the night to find fybie sleeping either (1) above my head, (2) below my feet (3) under the bed besides me and (4) inside her own bed.

well...its friday morning...a public holiday. so it means time for outing and gathering...eh...mum and dad are out for house visiting, so it leaves me and fybie okie...its a wonderful time spent preparing for fybie's breakfast...keke i cooked an egg...while i was trying to decide between half boiled or hard boiled, the egg turned out to be half boiled in the centre as well as the yoke and hard boiled on the surface. paiseh, cos i boiled the egg. but Fybie likes it. as usual, a diligent licker like her never fails to lick all the egg from the knibbles which i painstakingly stirred and mix well with...well... so for the rest of the knibbles, as usual, i feed her with my palms...

came afternoon....it was time for one to one with Fybie...

did i mention that Fybie has been barking profusely at the door whenever she hears sounds outside our house...so this is what i thought and did. i opened the door widely with the gates closed and sat with fybie at the gate. while Fybie is sleeping in the breeze, i was stoking her gently while i was blogging about Bell. it was a wonderful one to one session as i coax Fybie to sleep. yes, she was still barking at times...but at least she was not alone and she was able to sleep very very peacefully. time flies when we are enjoying it. soon, dad and mum are back. so we left our comfort zone and paused that one to one session.

when felix arrived, we were all prepared to bring Fybie to the dog cafe at turf city. Fybie was excited to leave the house and she could not stop fidgeting in the car. but at the cafe itself, she was very different. there were golden retrievers, shetland, jack russell terrier, corgi, huskies and etc. this means that there were a lot of other bigger and older dogs in the cafe. even though they are fellow canines, but i have a feeling that fybie felt like she was in a sea of sharks. she was in absolute alert mode. red going on black alert mode, just like swine flu...ewww. well, how do we tell, i think its pretty obvious when she hardly sits still, she does not eat and drink peacefully and her gaze are all over the place at each and every other dogs. take care of her paws, legs, rear and everything. when she has a chance, she scrambles and scratch just so she can climb above me. well, of cos i try to keep her down. done trying to feed her the pot pie, we decided to bring her to the doggy playground to play and join in the fun. heh. once again, she demonstrates her perfect scrambling skills and best hunting skill for the perfect hideout: under the see saw, bridge. well, nothing's new, she does not like to climb, nor crawl under the tunnel... haha, we gotta carry her and bring her paws and feet step by step onto the bridge and walk her paws and feet one by one. phew, tiring, but i still love her. felix was having fun snapping shots. man, thanks to felix for suggesting to bring 3 ladies (me, my sister and fybie) to dog cafe to satisfy our hunger and need for a place to house a man, two women and a dog. guess what. well, in return, to satisfy his need to take nice shots, i have to sacrifice my fragrance and feminity. first of all, we unleashed Fybie and test her stamina to stand and stare at me walk away. as assuring as we hope, Fybie's gaze never left me. Once felix let go of her, she ran, together with the tagging leash, she headed straight at me. well, she jumped on me. good girl Fybie!!! okie one more time, and we tested, and we succeeded. so Fybie does follow me. so now, this is where my sacrifices are. i have to run from one end to the other end so that my dearest darling can take a good action photo of Fybie running. errr, i was in heels and wearing a super short shorts with a nice black top. haiz, what a sacrifice. the shots enlarged my weakness and ugliness: my fats. alamak. but Fybie looks great running with me for a while. then we tried to make her walk by herself up and down the bridge. she managed to do it a couple of times and finally came the moment when she was on the straight end of the bridge, she walked backwards and FELL! man! my heartaches like mad and then it was my turn to scramble towards her, snatching her from the ground and carry her in my arms and hugging her, patting and massaging her legs...oh my god. she fell from that height, it must have been a bad experience. she must have been frightned to the core. immediately we decided to return home. once we return home, i cleaned her and heat up her left over pot pie, but she still has no appetite to eat. she barely ate anything. as usual, when there is no food we can get into her mouth, there is always the b fruit: banana. she loves it.

ok, cut the story short, change of plans, felix place. ok, so as usual, i am the one packing for Fybie. eh....her sofa bed and mattress, turtle, fabric bone, dishbowl, peepad, food, canned food, hello kitty spoon and fork, leash and most importantly, bananas.with my own clothing, we have 3-4 big bags of stuff to carry. ha, we look like we are going on a 10 days trip to europe. though the stuff were heavy, at least i felt safe and assured, knowing we have all the things that Fybie needs. err...as per normal, Fybie barks at strange noises. one beautiful thing happened. she poo on the pee pad. errr, thats the first pile of poo. immediately, she stood up and shifted her rear before she squat and poo again. that was out of the pee pad. what is she thinking? and what was she trying to do? find a good spot or mood to do her job?

while she was doing her business, felix was fixing up the best thing for Fybie: her dinner. as you can see, we are still trying very hard to feed Fybie. so before we disembark here, we routed to macpherson minimart to get breast meat and chicken drumlet to cook Fybie's dinner. now, felix is cooking her dinner. macaroni with cheese, chicken breast meat and rice. eh, same thing, no appetite, only took some macaroni. i think the fall make her frightened and affected her appetite, mood and courage. poor Fybie. finally, we all slept till the next day, not without countless barks from Fybie whenever there is strange noises or people walking around in the house.

late morning. Fybie hardly slept. heated breakfast, but none was swallowed. well, we always have banana to fall back on. think its the fall. soon we finally got up for my haircut while felix and Fybie had quality time together. before long, we are on our way home. my heart breaks when i know she is still listless and ate nothing much in the morning. so one can of cesar lamb for teabreak. as usual, when i sleep, Fybie sleeps besides me. man, i cannot tell you how much i love my baby. When i woke for my dinner, i prepared her dinner. she hardly eats too. so now my appetite is affected. eh, i go for vege only. in the end, i have to dump her food. at night, she was better...playing and running about more energetically than yesterday and in the morning.
a nice and simple sat just went passed.
sun. a trip to the coffeeshop, thinking we can have a peaceful family breakfast, but the kopitim boss is there, so our hopes are all dashed. in the end, i had to take away my breakfast and speed up my whole process. before reaching home, i decided to walk her and we spend a good 20 mins at the swing. i think she enjoyed it. her appetite returned. was not fantastic, but she ate. well, then it was sleeping time. after my disgusting driving lesson, we spend good quality time together.... and we played fetch and catch till wee hours. Fybie is not a big eater, but she is a big licker and player. man i love her. and i love the man who got me Bell and Fybie.
